Does Starlink work with no phone signal at camp?
Yes — that's the whole point. It connects to satellites, not mobile towers, so it works in remote camps and national parks with zero reception, as long as there's open sky above the unit.
What do I need to power it while camping?
Anything that gives it 12–48V DC or USB-C: a car socket, a 65W-plus power bank, or a portable power station. It only draws about 20–40 watts, so it's easy on a battery.
Will trees block it?
A clear view of the sky is what matters. Light, patchy canopy is usually fine; a thick roof of branches directly overhead can interrupt it, so pitch the dish where it can see open sky.
Is it okay in rain and dust?
Yes — the Mini is IP67 rated, so rain, dust and heat are no problem. It's built to live outside for the length of your trip.
