Coverage
Open sky is the key.

Coverage
Will it work where you’re going?
The Mini is designed for travel beyond mobile coverage. In most open-sky locations across Australia, it can connect directly to satellites overhead; trees, buildings, steep terrain, weather and network demand can all affect the result.
In-motion use is supported by Starlink Roam in selected areas, but the Mini must be safely secured in a suitable vehicle mount. A vehicle mount is not included with this hire kit.

Good to know
Questions from the road.
Where does it actually work?
It is designed to work across Australia where the Starlink Roam service is available and the Mini has a clear view of the sky. Trees, buildings, steep terrain, weather and network demand can affect service. In-motion use is available only in selected areas and needs a secure vehicle mount, which is not included with this kit.
Do I need to bring power?
Yes — you bring the power (batteries aren’t included). The Mini averages 25–40 watts: use the supplied mains adapter at a powered site, or a compatible 12–48V DC source off-grid. A power bank must provide 100W USB-C PD at 20V/5A and use the correct USB-C-to-barrel accessory cable.
How much data do I get?
Unlimited data on the Starlink Roam plan. Stream, video-call and back up your trip without keeping one eye on a meter.
How fast is it, really?
Typically 80–200 Mbps download and 8–15 Mbps upload, with 25–40 ms latency. That’s comfortable for 4K streaming, video meetings and big photo uploads. Speeds vary with your sky view, the weather and network load.
Is it hard to set up?
It’s a five-step, app-guided setup with no specialist tools. The app checks the sky and guides alignment, and the quick-start card in the case walks through the same process.
Collection and the bond?
Collection and return are by arrangement from Ourimbah, NSW 2258. A refundable $300 bond is held against damage or loss and returned once the kit’s back safe and sound.
